WHERE MO STANDS

Making College Work for District 5

In District 5, college isn’t an abstract issue — it’s personal. Mo Denis is running for Regent to make sure higher education works for every student it serves.

01 — Affordability

Keep Tuition in Check

Mo will fight against unnecessary tuition hikes and make sure Nevada Promise helps students graduate — not just enroll. Getting in is only the first step.

02 — Student Support

Resources to Finish

Books. Advising. Emergency grants. Mental health resources. Mo will push the Board to invest in the wraparound support that turns enrollment into graduation.

03 — Workforce

Degrees That Lead to Real Jobs

Nevada’s economy is growing. Mo will align NSHE programs with high-demand industries — healthcare, clean energy, construction, and technology — so graduates have real opportunities.

04 — Accountability

Transparent, Responsible Governance

The Board oversees a $2 billion system. Nevada families deserve open budgets, measurable outcomes, and a board that answers to students — not just administrators.

Nevada Promise

Building on What's Working

Nevada Promise has been a game-changer — covering tuition at community colleges like CSN and giving thousands of District 5 students their first shot at higher education.

But getting in is only the first step. Mo Denis will work to expand what Nevada Promise started, filling the gaps that still push students out before they finish.

1

Support beyond tuition. Expand textbook assistance, emergency grants, and student services so financial barriers don’t force students to drop out.

2

Improve access and awareness. Make sure more students and families know about Nevada Promise and can complete FAFSA before the deadline.

3

Flexible pathways for working students. Scheduling and support that accounts for students balancing school, jobs, and family.

4

Strengthen CSN-to-UNLV transfers. One system should work like one system — no lost credits, no lost time, no lost money.

“Getting into college is only the first step. We need to help students finish.”

FOR DISTRICT 5 FAMILIES

College Should Be Within Reach

If you’re a student

You deserve a system that backs you up from day one to graduation.

Not just tuition help. Real support — advising, emergency funds, and a clear path to a degree that means something.

If you’re a parent

Your kid worked hard to get here. They shouldn’t lose their shot over a textbook bill.

Mo will push for the resources that help first-generation students stay enrolled and finish — not just enroll and struggle.

If you’re going back to school

Your schedule, your job, and your family matter.

Mo will fight for flexible pathways and support systems that fit working adults’ lives — not the other way around.
